Facilities at Scoresby

Upper Floor

This floor is where we keep the common but neccesary stuff. Machines for every muscle group, 6 more bench press stations, dumbbells up to 70kg, cable stations, arms area, and a row of cardio machines facing the windows. We’ve kitted out this floor with some of the most reputable brands such as Nautilus, Hammer Strength and True Fitness. We’ve even got an elevator for you to avoid those post legday stairs.

Machine Central

All of our bench presses are Australian made and have spotter arms (not shown in the render), so you can feel safe during those quiet hours where spotters aren’t easy to find. Most of our plate loaded machines are Hammer Strength branded, and pin loaded machines are Nautilus branded. We have a few pieces of specialty machines such as the Pendulum squat, the Glute drive, and the rarely seen Lateral Deltoid.

Dumbbells N’ Benches

4 rows of dumbbells from 1kg all the way up to 70kg. We’ve learnt that it’s actually not the equipment in this section that matters the most, but the space. We’ve ensured to leave enough space between the dumbbell racks and the benches so someone can return their weights while you’re doing your dumbbell presses. The arms section is also separated and instead of filling the space with extra benches, we’ve left it empty. And we’re 100% you will appreciate this on arms day.

Cables N’ Things

On top of two big cable stations, we’ve added an extra tricep station on the end of each one, so you can still do your cable flies when someone just wants to use one end for tricep pushdowns. Apart of those cable stations, are also 2 lat pulldowns and 2 cable seated rows. Common but neccesary.

Cardio Section

TRUE Fitness treadmills, with incline and decline functions. The usual Ellipticals, all kinds of bikes, and of course, the ultimate Stairmaster stair mills. Overlooking Ferntree Gully Road, you get reminded that you are in the gym making the progress that those people driving home are missing out on. Go you!

Bags N’ Group Zone

Sometimes you just need to hit something. These bags are here to keep you out of trouble. If that’s not fun enough for you. Our Boxfit classes are the most popular classes we have. On top of this, the floor in this group training zone is designed to handle weight dumping. It comes in handy in our Barbell Fit and HIIT classes where you simply don’t have the energy left to put the weights down softly. So you let the weights know how much you’re hurting!

Class Room

We can run a variety of classes in this room, from Yoga to High Intensity Interval Training. Take a look at the ‘Classes’ section to find out more. Two floor to ceiling windows in this room which looks out to Ferntree Gully Road. When classes are not running, this is another open training space for anything you want. Or just pose!

If you’re not familiar with what that is, a quick Google of their pricetags should indicate the cult. It doesn’t stop there, Rogue powerlifting and weightlifting bars, Comp spec combo racks, and your favourite carpet surfaced deadlifting platforms that we have to resurface regularly… but we get it, because training is life!

Calibrated and Bumper Plates

For those who are asking: why are calibrated weight plates important? Here’s your answer: A regular weight plate, (like the ones most health and fitness gyms use) can vary up to 300g in weight per plate. Sure, that doesn’t sound like much, instead of bench pressing 20kg I’m doing 19.7kg. But let’s now imagine you are lifting 5 plates per side, training for your first competition. In total, that’s 3kg off the actual weight you think you’re lifting. You head off to competition thinking you’ve done this weight before, and on the day, it doesn’t move! Now you go searching for a gym with proper weight plates! We’ve saved you that painful experience.

Boxing Fit class with a high intensity twist! This class is extremely fun, and you will learn basic boxing techinques at the same time. This is one of our popular classes so make sure you show up early to secure your spot!

Morning HIIT

These are High Intensity Interval classes. A typical class will be structure by a variety of body weight, or light resistance exercises, in a circuit or timed format. The duration of these classes are between 30-60 mintues. They are great for building cardio, and muscular endurance, all while burning a whole lot of calories.

Training Day Scoresby’s gym offers a variety of membership options that will suit your personal needs. The services you need access to will determine the ideal membership package for you. For instance, you can opt for a monthly body scan and program update, or be apart of our TD Barbell crew to learn Powerlifting or Olympic Weightlifting, led by our national level coaches. We also offer a variety of payment options and you can sign up via our online membership gateway, or in person with a friendly staff.

The Gym

Training Day Scoresby has created an inclusive and welcoming training environment with a wide variety of both user-friendly equipment, as well as professional strength training gear. You can gain access to a vast selection of free weights, bumper plates and calibrated weight plates, specialty barbells, pin loaded strength training equipment, the ‘playground’ for functional training, or the good old cardio equipment. There are always qualified instructors and coaches in our Scoresby gym. Actually that is an understatement, some of our trainers and coaches are the best national level athletes the country can offer, from Commonwealth Games athletes, Junior world record holders, specialized nutritionists, the list goes on. We monitor the various components of your health and performance to determine improvements and guide you accordingly.
